Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can you work remotely at Enersense?

At Enersense, you are free to work remotely, considering the nature of your job. Our staff operates throughout Finland and the Baltics, so remote meetings are a natural part of the Enersense working culture. However, we also have offices in several locations where you can meet colleagues.

  • What kind of facilities and equipment do you have? Do you have a cafeteria on your premises?

Our staff works in a variety of environments, from construction sites and factories to power plants and offices, so the facilities and equipment depend on the job.

We have projects in diverse settings, making it challenging to provide a uniform answer: we work at hydrogen plants, shipyards, bridge construction sites, and zinc factories in the Norwegian fjords. The common factor in these locations is that we always use safety equipment when working on-site or when the job otherwise requires it.

In our office, we have open-plan office space and meeting rooms of various sizes that can be reserved by everyone.

Our employees have access to the E-pass lunch benefit, which can be used at most common lunch restaurants.

  • What is the work atmosphere like at Enersense?

We have a great work atmosphere! The work environment is one of the aspects our employees are particularly satisfied with. In our employee satisfaction survey, our staff mentioned that they especially value the relationships between colleagues and the quality of leadership.

  • How does Enersense take care of employee well-being?

Employee well-being is of utmost importance to us, as we believe that a healthy workforce is the secret to a successful company. We encourage every Enersense employee to take care of their own well-being and mental health. Enersense’s own occupational well-being specialist is involved in developing well-being plans for our employees.

In everyday work ability management, it is important for us to support the work ability of employees of all ages in a sustainable way. Our focus is on prevention, maintaining and improving work ability, and strengthening the leadership skills of managers.

We offer comprehensive occupational health services, which include not only statutory services but also services that maintain work ability, such as occupational health psychologist and short-term therapist services, as well as nutrition therapy.

Remote work opportunities, flexible working hours, lightened work, or changes in job duties are ways we improve the balance between work and private life when life takes over.

We also support well-being with smaller actions: some of our sites offer fruits and refreshments. Our office employees have access to a break exercise program that brings movement and brain breaks into the workday. We are a smoke-free workplace and support our staff in quitting smoking.

  • How does Enersense consider the different life situations of employees?

To achieve our daily goals, we need healthy workdays and work ability. We believe in work ability management, which supports the overall well-being of our staff.

Work ability management is based on anticipating and preventing work ability challenges, identifying work ability risks early, and providing early support in situations that challenge work ability. It is important that our sustainable work ability model supports addressing work ability challenges in all everyday work situations.

Flexible working hours and various work arrangements help when life situations change. For example, remote work opportunities, flexible working hours, lightened work, or changes in job duties are ways we support the recovery of work ability and improve the balance between work and private life.

  • How is leadership managed at Enersense? Are managers trained?

We have a management system in place that consists of the practices we use to lead and guide the various aspects of our business to achieve our goals.

One of the measures is the monthly Leaders Daily event, where we discuss leadership goals and principles, as well as practical matters, with Enersense managers.

Generally, Enersense employees are satisfied with their managers, but our goal is to continuously improve our supervisory work. In the 2024 employee survey, satisfaction with leadership was rated at 3.8/5

  • Do I need to speak English in my job at Enersense?

The language requirement varies by position and is not mandatory for all roles. Enersense operates not only in Finland but also in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, and many roles involve cross-border work. We do not expect perfect language skills from each other and are accustomed to various skill levels in our daily work. However, we aim to be ready to develop and consider non-Finnish-speaking colleagues in all situations.
