We provide turnkey EPC deliveries of 110 kV and 400 kV substations, including both air-insulated (AIS) and gas-insulated (GIS) solutions. Our strong in-house engineering and project delivery teams cover everything from primary and secondary design to civil work, installation, testing, commissioning and documentation. While we typically provide full turnkey substation delivery, the exact project scope is always matched to the customer’s needs. The procurement of long-lead items and interfaces with the GIS system provider are examples of areas where the scope is typically agreed on a case-by-case basis.

Over the past decade we have carried out approximately 50 substation projects in demanding transmission grid environments across Finland. 

As a lifecycle services provider, we also offer comprehensive services for operational substations. We provide a full operations package, including inspections, preventive and corrective maintenance, supported by 24/7 remote monitoring and operations delivered through our own control room and operators. These services can be complemented with standby and fault response agreements with response times tailored to the customers’ operational needs.  

Today, we maintain substations across a wide range of environments, including transmission grids, distribution networks, wind farms, solar parks and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Reliable grid connection is a prerequisite for every data centre project. Enersense provides end-to-end services for high-voltage transmission line connections, helping data centre developers bring power to their sites safely, efficiently and on schedule. 

We deliver both 110 kV and 400 kV grid connections as overhead transmission lines or underground cable systems. Our services cover the entire lifecycle of the connection, including route planning, permitting, pre-engineering, detailed engineering, construction, testing, commissioning, maintenance as well as 24/7 fault response and repair services. Our extensive network of offices and partners ensures we can serve our customers’ project, maintenance and fault preparedness needs across Finland. 

Whether the data centre will be connected directly to high-voltage lines or through a grid operator’s substation, we can tailor the project scope to the customer’s needs, from route planning and individual engineering assignments to full turnkey EPC deliveries. We also provide 24/7 maintenance, standby and fault repair services for high-voltage connections serving data centres. 

Over the past ten years, we have built or refurbished more than 550 km of high-voltage transmission lines in the Nordics. Today, our customers have entrusted us to maintain thousands of kilometres of critical high-voltage transmission and distribution networks across Finland. As the energy intensity of servers continues to increase, cooling becomes ever more important for data centres and their reliable operation. We provide prefabrication and installation services for cooling infrastructure, including process piping, cooling water systems, steel structures, supports, and related mechanical installations. Our experienced project teams deliver high-quality installation solutions safely and efficiently, supporting data centre construction projects from early phases through to mechanical completion. 

Our capabilities range from individual installation packages to the management and coordination of large-scale cooling infrastructure projects. We act as the customer’s implementation partner, ensuring smooth execution and coordination between multiple contractors and interfaces. We can support the project from site preparation and prefabrication through installation, testing and commissioning, helping customers accelerate delivery schedules while ensuring high quality and safety standards. 

Enersense has extensive experience in demanding industrial and energy infrastructure projects across the Nordics. We have delivered complex piping and mechanical installation projects in Finland, Sweden and Norway, including large-scale energy facilities.
