We are seeking an experienced, outgoing and hands on Construction Installation Manager with a forward-thinking approach to manage our client`s construction project in Drammen, Norway.

To be considered for this position you will have experience in large Civil, building construction projects, demonstrating your experience and understanding the importance of driving a safety conscious culture that provides high quality work, through to a proven ability in managing on site budget requirements in order to meet project delivery to completion. The estimated duration of this project is 6 months.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Monitoring of the contractor’s daily works, including visits of inspection, daily progress reporting and field leadership activities.
  • Input/ review to construction planning and progress claims.
  • Assist in interactions with construction site operations and management.
  • Ensure all site structures, systems, processes, procedures and safe work practices are utilised by all personnel.
  • Provide leadership and promote the safety culture and ownership in accordance with the HSE management system and colleagues.
  • Ensure that works are executed in accordance Ensure work is conducted within the set time schedule 
  • Generate necessary reports and present them to the management
  • Ensure meeting the construction budget through monitoring project expenditures, identifying variances as well as implementing corrective actions
  • Plan the sequence of works, construction as well as accountability for provision of materials
  • Offer technical input concerning design, construction or modifications required
  • Provide solutions to the site problems as and when they arise
  • Ensure that, changes to the scope of works are identified, agreed and effectively managed
  • Continuous monitoring of the progress work orders to ensure contract objectives are being met.
  • Ensure that, changes to the scope of works are identified, agreed and effectively managed and documented
  • Preparation and the provision of formal reports on progress to the Site Management
  • Ensure that all relevant issues, which cannot be resolved at site level, are passed for the attention of the Site Management

Keys to success:

  • Previous experience in similar position 
  • Relevant Engineering background (Civil & Structural)
  • Ability to make decisions based on identifying and understanding issues, problems and opportunities
  • A Safety Focus mindset at all times
  • Hands on experience in civil construction concrete, and structural Works 
  • A proven ability in all administration requirements, working to site budget requirements
  • Able to work in a team environment to deliver high quality, on time results
  • Proven Leadership and Supervisory skills
  • An understanding of Quality and Process Control Procedures, that results in driving a high level of communication within the team
  • Good communication and team working skills
  • English, Swedish and/or Norwegian language skills
