Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Support the sourcing, evaluation, and execution of M&A opportunities and other strategic initiatives
  • Supports assessment of potential strategic business opportunities; help determine industry attractiveness and market outlook, analyze participants, assess alternative entry strategies and make specific recommendations
  • Manage and support the identification, screening and evaluation of acquisition targets that are aligned with specific strategic priorities of the business
  • Develop and update financial model, forecast and assumptions working closely with corporate cross-functional team and business unit leaders
  • Prepare and support the presentation of acquisition opportunities to the management
  • Lead and develop comprehensive valuation analysis to properly value acquisition or investment target
  • Use variety of methodologies and techniques including discounted cash flow, return analysis, earnings per share accretion and comparable transaction multiples to determine appropriate value
  • Supports preparation of offers, including non-binding indications of interest and final letters of intent.
  • Assists with the negotiation, development, and review of definitive agreements, working capital targets, and post-closing adjustments.
  • Provides analysis in support of potential new or existing corporate venture capital investments to aid the development and growth of the business.
  • Interact with and help manage investment banking relationships to support deal flow and maintain a robust M&A pipeline.
  • Support annual corporate strategic planning process by developing specific industry, business or financial analysis and recommendations for review
  • Manage special projects that include primary market or company research, M&A scenario analysis, company financial reporting, competitive analysis, performance benchmarking and other relevant areas.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Business Administration or other relevant degree. MBA or equivalent desired.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, management consulting, financial planning and analysis or in a previous corporate development.
  • Background in corporate accounting and finance principles with knowledge of M&A tax implications and considerations.
  • Strong understanding and implementation of M&A valuation methodologies with advanced financial analysis and modeling skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial statements and to develop, evaluate, and present detailed financial models.
  • Experience developing business cases working with cross-functional teams to assess the overall attractiveness of an acquisition or investment opportunity.
  • Able to effectively present business and financial information to senior management and business unit partners.
  • Strong quantitative and analytic skills with the ability to accurately assess complex situations and synthesize information to provide meaningful conclusions and recommendations.
  • Proven self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment to achieve desired goals and objectives; able to set priorities and respond appropriately to changing demands.
  • Able to learn new industries, markets and technologies and effectively demonstrate acquired knowledge in support of strategic decision-making.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadline; comfortable performing in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing both internal and external resources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing executive materials.
  • Implements M&A best practices to improve the overall capabilities and performance of the organization.

Language skills:

  • Finnish and English language skills required
